Artwear designer Jun Jun Ablaza created another one of a kind collection for Aveda’s Art Meets Earth Month event held last April 20, 2017 at The Atrium of Enderun in McKinley Hill. Renowned for his extraordinary flair in creating the most unconventional but wearable pieces, Jun Jun showcased a superbly hand crafted collection inspired from his travel at the island paradise of Maldives.
His astonishingly beautiful masterpieces depicting the bounties of the ocean were made from a variety of sea shells, corals, pearls and other embellishments, painstakingly sewn together.Wear it over a basic outfit and voila! You’ve got an absolutely unique and fabulous ensemble. Together with Jun Jun were two respected mavens of accessories who are highly regarded for their finely crafted collections. Natalya Lagdameo displayed her exquisite locally made gold jewelries, while Monchet Diokno-Olives brought his elegant authentic hand fans. These three designers reflect the distinct flavor and high leverl of craftsmanshio that Filipinos are known for. Dynamic yet tasteful, each inspired piece is masterfully created to remind everyone of the beauty of the planet we live in.
In addition, Aveda’s partner salons – Studio Fix by Alex Carbonell, Basement Salon, Indigo Salon, and Sora Salon showcased safe hair coloring using the brand’s signature Eclipting Technique that creates an illusion of a thinner face. Aveda’s stunning show of eco-friendly artistry was in celebration of Earth Month 2017. Proceeds from this effort will benefit Bantay Kalikasan, and the movement for clean water. The company definitely prides itself as the world’s leading holistic beauty brand and true champion of environmental responsibility.
All accessories from the show are displayed at the Aveda Experience Center located on the ground floor of Greenbelt 5 from April 21 to May 21, 2017.
